Factory Automation

The general engineering team of REDinvent Technologies has more than 20 man years of practical experience in designing and developing custom machineries, SPMs and automation systems, ranging from heavy engineering to medical device companies.

Our automation solution starts with system study, concept development and animation in 3D. Interaction with other system suppliers like PLC, control panel and MMI occurs at the preliminary design stage. The integrated solution is arrived through constant interaction between the control systems provider, machine builder and other system suppliers. We take full responsibility in providing the complete system to the customer and make use of the knowledge attained through years of experience for arriving at the right solution for any automation system. By dividing the project into micro projects and testing each sub module separately we delivering complex automation systems efficiently.

DFx

Product life cycles are getting shorter and shorter and hence time to market becomes a key factor that determines competitiveness. Any change in the manufacturing process will cost the manufacturer in terms of time and money. Therefore a seamless integration of the design and manufacturing engineering team is required to ensure that a product is manufactured right the very first time.

Several disciplines such as DFM, DFA and DFC connect design and processes. DFM or Design for Manufacturing, consists of a set of rules or principles which when followed makes the logistics related to the design to manufacturing cycle easier, error free and faster. DFA refers to the set of procedures used to analyze an assembly and suggest improvements by reducing part count, changing the manufacturing process or a combination of these.

DFC is mostly related to the cost part of the process and maybe considered a subset of DFM or DFA. An example solution is nesting optimization using proven computational optimization techniques.

Nesting

Nesting is the process of laying out part shapes on a 2D plane. This is applicable to several industries like sheet metal, textile, furniture manufacturing etc. What we offer is a cost saving solution to the customer in terms of reduction in scrap. We analyze the nesting sequence and layout using optimization techniques that optimize the sheet usage to bring in substantial savings to the customer in terms of better sheet utilization, reduced inventory and efficient order processing.

Tooling / Fixture Design

We have expertise in designing and developing tooling for sheet metal parts and injection molded parts. Tool material selection, proper tool type design are critical factors that determine the efficiency and productivity.

We are well-qualified in designing custom fixtures for machine tools, part cutting and part holding.
